A new app aimed at helping you stay safe during risky situations was created by a South Carolina inventor.

The app is called ‘Location Lockbox’.

You enter an event in the app that may be risky like a blind date.

Later, the app checks in on you and asks you to type in a safe code.

If you are not safe, you will type on your panic code and the app will send your information to your designated emergency contact.

“So, unlike most apps that kind of track your phone and geo-locate where you are, this app requires positive confirmation from the individual using a code they chose,” said the apps creator, Sheldon Early.

Location Lockbox is available now through your app store.
