SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – School resource officers in South Carolina are working on ways to better deal with students based on that child’s individual needs, focusing on disabilities.

In the past, officers have been trained on working with kids who are autistic and hearing impaired.

This training will help them work with students of all disabilities.

The goal is to help officers evaluate a situation before reacting and using that evaluation to determine how to discipline a student.
