(CNN) – Pizza Hut is changing its recipe for the first time in 40 years.
The recipe includes a new cheese blend and sauce.
Also, it will be baked in what the company calls a “newly engineered” pan, so it has a crispier crust.
Pizza Hut is battling for customers with Papa John’s and Domino’s.
Just last year, Domino’s had more sales than Pizza Hut for the first time ever.
The franchise makeover also includes expanding its beer delivery program by 1,000 locations by this summer.
It wants to develop insulated pouches too, to keep pizzas hotter.
