Big Tyrone Truesdell and Laney hoping for big things despite tough schedule

Augusta, GA (WJBF) — Tyrone Truesdell made the FFN/Carolina All-CSRA defensive team as a junior last year. Now the standout defensive tackle and offensive lineman part of what Laney head coach Rodney McFadden calls a “very deep” senior class. The Wildcats, in McFadden’s second season as head coach, are hoping to repeat as region champs. They’re also hoping to make it further in the playoffs after falling in the first round last year.

The Wildcats have a new region in 2A this season that now includes Screven County and Jefferson County. They’ll also play a tough non-region schedule with games against Thomson, Aquinas, and Evans.

Along with Truesdell, who has offers from a number of big time programs including Auburn, the Wildcats also feature another highly recruited player, Willie Eubanks III. Eubanks plays running back and linebacker.
