AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has released the incident report detailing July 4th’s shooting along the Riverwalk.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Clinton Lamont Coleman, fired multiple rounds and struck Hillary Odom in the face and Robert Odom in the back.

This occurred on the patio area of the Unisys building (the old Fort Discovery building).

A witness stated that he heard Coleman say to another unidentified suspect, “What do you want to do, what do you want to do?” He says Coleman then reached into the front of his pants and pulled a gun. The second suspect then pulled their gun and the two exchanged fire among a crowd of bystanders.

One bystander tackled Coleman to the ground and wrestled his gun away from him.

Another man, with a conceal & carry permit, pulled his own gun out and told the unidentified suspect to drop their weapon. The suspect pointed his gun at the man, at which time the man fired 3 to 4 shots at the suspect. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Hillary Odom received a wound to the right side of her face. Robert Odom received a wound to the left side of his back and the back of his left thigh. They, as well as Coleman, were transported to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment.

Coleman is still in the hospital under watch by law enforcement. Once he is released he will be booked under aggravated assault charges.
