Augusta hosting Georgia Republican Convention Friday-Saturday

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Georgia Republican Party will hold its state convention in Augusta Friday through Saturday

The convention begins at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3 at the Augusta Convention Center. There, GOP delegates will choose 31 at-large delegates and alternates to go to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio later this summer.

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry is scheduled to attend the event and be featured at a “victory dinner” Friday evening. The convention wraps up on Saturday, June 4.
