AU forum to address community concerns about law enforcement, accountability

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — The Augusta University College Republicans and the CSRA Minority Engagement are co-hosting a community forum Tuesday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m., at AU’s Maxwell Theater.

The purpose of the event is to address community concerns in the wake of the recent events dealing with law enforcement. A panel of elected officials, law enforcement, community leaders, and pastors will address questions from the audience and provide accountability and communication between officials and the citizens they represent and protect.

The forum panel will include U.S. Congressman Jody Hice, Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Captain Andy Shedd, State Representatives Brian Prince and Jodi Lott, and Pastors Mark Maddox and Larry Fryer.
