LOS ANGELES (WBAY) – Actor Alan Thicke has died at the age of 69. ABC News and other media reported the news Tuesday night around 8 o’clock Central time. ABC News says the information was confirmed by Thicke’s publicist.
The Canadian actor was best known as the understanding dad Dr. Jason Seaver on “Growing Pains,” which aired on ABC from 1985 to 1992. When the series ended he was still a common fixture on television making guest appearances on TV shows — sometimes as himself — and starring in made-for-TV movies.
Thicke was also a musician who composed the theme songs to “Diff’rent Strokes” and its spin-off “The Facts of Life.”
