Aiken County employees could start year with higher salaries

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – Aiken County employees may start the year with a bigger paycheck.. if county leaders pass a pay raise later this week.

The final reading of an ordinance to increase wages will be heard on Tuesday.

If passed, nearly 685-thousand dollars will be allocated for all full-time county workers.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The final reading of an ordinance to raise Aiken County employee salaries will be heard in December.

If passed, nearly $685,000 dollars will be put towards increasing wages for all full-time county workers.

That’s about a 3-percent bump from their current pay.

City leader say the decision to increase wages is separate from the Department of Labor’s new overtime rule.
