22 CSRA residents facing federal racketeering charges


SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – The U.S. Attorney for South Carolina has announced that 22 CSRA residents are being indicted on federal racketeering charges.

20 of those people are from North Augusta and 2 are from Augusta.

The indictment says all of them operated out of the Murphy Village area in North Augusta.

The U-S-Attorney says they’re all facing charges for schemes to get life insurance, food stamps, Medicaid and financing for cars.

The investigation began in 2012.

  • Mary Gorman Carroll
  • Jimmy Gorman
  • Leslie C. Gorman
  • Renee Carroll
  • Rose S. Mulholland
  • Susan Sherlock
  • Tommy Sherlock
  • William Carroll
  • Johnny Mack
  • Leonard New
  • Angela Askew
