Masters Report 2016 – Sunday

Masters Report

Augusta, GA (WJBF) – The 2016 Masters is in the books, and what a wild Sunday it was…

It looked like we were headed for another Jordan Speith Sunday. Instead, we got one of the biggest second 9 surprises in Masters history.

Some say the Masters doesn’t start until the second 9 on Sunday. Amazingly, that was true this year.

Danny Willett wins the Masters by 3 strokes over Speith and Lee Westwood, who each finished at 3 under par. Then, Paul Casey and J.B. Holmes finished 1 under par for 4th place, as did Dustin Johnson

After that, there was a 3-way tie with Matthew Fitzpatrick, Soren Kneldsen, and Hideki Matsuyama finishing at even par. Daniel Berger locked himself into next year’s Masters tournament with a 10th place finish, tied with several big name players: Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, and Brandt Snedeker. Kiradech Aphibarnarat just missed finishing in the top 12.

As for players from the CSRA, Aiken’s Kevin Kisner shot even par on Sunday, finishing in 37th place in his Masters debut. Former Augusta University golfer Patrick Reed finished in 49th place at 12 over par, and Augusta’s own, and former Masters champion, Larry Mize, finished in 52nd place at 13 over par.

We also hear from Willett, take a look in on the Green Jacket Ceremony, and hear from other notables to finish out this year’s Masters week.
