Annual “Woofstock Doggie Derby Day” Saturday in Aiken

The city of Aiken is going to the dogs on Saturday.

Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) will hold its annual “Woofstock – Doggie Derby Day” at Citizens Park. The event is held each year on the same day as the Kentucky Derby and features fun races for dogs of all sizes (including the always-popular Doxie Derby), a talent competition, food, fun and prizes. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring their dogs and dogs will be available for adoption from the Aiken County Animal Shelter.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. and will end by 3 p.m. WJBF NewsChannel 6’s John Hart will serve as emcee. 

Admission is free. All proceeds go to benefit the Aiken County Animal Shelter.
