The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Aiken County.
Troopers say the incident happened just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 30.
The driver of a 2012 Kia was headed east on I-20 when they lost control, ran off the road — into the median, and then hit a tree.
The driver was Tesia A. Cauthen, 27, of Lancaster, S.C. She was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
We’re told Cauthen was restrained in the vehicle along with her one year old daughter.
Officials tell us her daughter was transported to Augusta University Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.
Toxicology results are pending as Highway Patrol continues their investigation.
