Water main break affecting part of Aiken

A water main break is affecting approximately 100 residences in Aiken, according to a city spokesman.

Media Specialist Gary Meadows says the City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Departmenthas the water main on Beaver Dam Road turned off. He says the Utilities Department is currently working to repair the issue and will turn the water main back on just as soon as the issue is resolved. 

The break affects residents on Beaver Dam Road, North Meadows Neighborhood and portions of Wire Road. 

Anyone with questions or concerns is advised to call The City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department at 803-642-7617. Updates will be posted on the city’s social media as repairs progress.

Meadows says that once service has been restored,a Boil Water Advisory will automatically be in effect.
