Two streetlight plans face commissioners

A new proposal will go before Augusta Commissioner next week when it comes to streetlights.

City leaders are  looking at  different plants  to eliminate a growing shortfall in the streetlight fund.

Commissioner Wayne Guilfoyle  is proposing an 85-dollar-a year residential fee.
But unlike other options on the table–this would affect only those currently paying for streetlights.

” “It’s not fair to the people who does not have streetlights to have to pay the same the same thing that somebody that does again it’s not a fair methodology not so ever,” said Commissioner Guilfoyle.

Commissioner Sammie Sias is proposing an 87 dollar a year fee that would be paid by all  property owners whether or not they currently have lights on their street.
