Augusta was really cooking to help healthy hearts.
A tremendous response to the city’s barbeque fundraiser at the municipal building, for the American Heart Association.
Organizers struggled to keep up with the demand.
So, a lot of credit goes to the cooks working the grills.
“It’s been outstanding, pretty much sold out, went and got some more orders, got something we could cook pretty fast, some chicken breast fillets, takes ten hours to cook a Boston butt, so we had to get more chicken, chicken was the main thing they wanted today,“ said Roy Searles.
This year’s fundraiser was dedicated to Commissioners Grady Smith and Andrew Jefferson who passed away last year.
