WILLISTON, S.C. (WJBF) – (UPDATE: 5/24/21 3:29 pm) – 28-year-old Brandon Antonio Williams has been charged with two counts of murder.
Brandon Williams, 28, was arrested Friday, May 21, in the shooting deaths of Barbara Williams, 45, and Jerome Williams, 26, at 160 Halford Street in Williston.
Barbara and Jerome Williams were found lying on the floor of a residence along Halford Street in Williston Friday. Both had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Williams told investigators he was in the residence within seconds of the original report of shots fired.
A witness stated that Brandon was the only person left in the residence alive after shots were fired.
Three handguns were found on-scene, with Williams admitting to owning two of them.
The investigation was lead by SLED and the Williston Police Department.
Williams was booked at Barnwell County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
UPDATE (9:40 PM 5/21/21) : The Barnwell County Coroner’s Office released the names of two victims in a deadly double shooting at 160 Halford Street in Williston today.
45-year-old Barbara Williams and her son, 26-year-old Jerome Williams were pronounced dead by the Coroner’s Office after they were shot.
Barnwell County Coroner’s Office is working with SLED and the Williston Police Department on this double homicide investigation.
Barbara and Jerome Williams will be autopsied in Newberry, SC, Tuesday.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been requested to help local law enforcement agencies with a shooting in Williston.
SLED regional agents and crime scene professionals are at the location of the shooting, which has not been confirmed at this time.
At least one person was airlifted to a hospital according to eyewitness video from the scene.
A spokesperson for SLED said the agency wants the public to know that they do not believe at this time that there is any threat to the public.
The names of the two murder victims have not yet been released.
