Red Cross volunteers open shelter in North Augusta


Volunteers with the Palmetto SC Region of the American Red Cross will open a shelter in North Augusta for those impacted by the severe weather. 

The shelter will be at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Volunteers will provide blankets, cots, food, snacks, and kits with personal hygiene items. Those using the shelter will need to bring thier medications, phone chargers, pillows and blankets, and entertainment for children. 

The Red Cross will stay in contact with the community partners and the government in order to make sure the needs of residents are being met. 

Volunteers will offer food and drinks to first responders throughout the evening.
