AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – When disaster strikes, the Red Cross is there.
Wednesday, some Red Cross Heroes were honored at a breakfast at First Baptist Church of Augusta.
The Heroes include a bus driver, EMTs, Firefighters and police officers.
They were treated to a nice breakfast and received an award.
Marvin Harris is one of the honorees.
“It’s a little humbling. I know that when my child who came here, my youngest is six, and he thinks hero and he thinks of someone with a cape with super powers but it’s just a reminder that anyone can step out and do the right thing and make a difference.”
Harris was chosen for his act of bravery when he saved a woman from a burning home.
