Preston Overton Murder Suspects in Court

The three people accused of killing Preston Overton went before a judge Friday.

William Krepps, Vaughn Verdi, and Emily Stephens were in the Richmond County Courthouse in front of Judge Wade Padgett for sentencing.

Vaughn Verdi and Emily Stephens testified against William Krepps.

Krepps is charged with two counts of felony murder and received 2 life sentences.

One charge is in the death of Chad Garner and the other in the death of Preston Overton.

Verdi plead guilty to tampering with evidence.He is sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Stephens pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence. She is sentenced to 1 year in prison and 5 years probation.

Her time behind bars counts toward the sentence, so she will be released.
