The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of 69-year- old pedestrian Willie Mims.
Mims was struck by a car heading north while crossing the 2500 block of Peach Orchard Road. The call came in at 6:41 pm.
Mims was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where he died at 7:14 pm. The cause of death was blunt force trauma.
