(WJBF) – The National Weather Service in Columbia has confirmed that an EF1 tornado caused damage on the border of Warren and McDuffie Counties.
The NWS survey team is currently investigating the path track of the tornado, in search of additional damage.
Warren County Emergency Services tells WJBF that several homes in the county received minor to moderate damage from the storm. Several outbuildings were found to have severe damage or were completely destroyed.
The county also has a sizeable number of trees down, and it may take a couple of days to remove the fallen trees.
Power crews were out bright and early Friday morning working to make sure electricity is back on for residents in the area. Warren County Emergency Services told WJBF on Friday afternoon that all power should be restored by now or close to it.
Thankfully, the county is reporting that there were no reports of any injuries or fatalities.
