Augusta leaders made no decision on a controversial rehab facility in south Augusta
The Hale House Foundation is seeking a change of zoning to allow for the building of a 30 patient voluntary treatment facility in the Green Meadows neighborhood.
A motion to deny the zoning change failed and so did a motion to approve, sending the issue back to the drawing board.
Something the neighborhood did not want to happen.
“We’ve spent weeks and months of research finding everything to refute what they have to say, so it’s really a problem for us. We’re not getting any younger. We would really like to see this over with,” said Green Meadows resident Tracie Roe.
Lawyers for the Hale House say they will be discussing options for starting over with the planning process, saying they have a large investment in the property.
