It’s warm outside, and a perfect day for a cool treat.
Thursday, Dairy Queen locations in Augusta are contributing at least one dollar to Children’s Hospital of Georgia for each Blizzard sold.
The hospital’s CEO says they’re going to use the money raised this year to buy some equipment that will make it easier to diagnose health conditions in children.
“The money will go towards, this year, the movement of a PET CT Scanner into Children’s Hospital,” says CEO Leann Liska. “And this way, our children who are being diagnosed, or let’s say staged, can actually have their PET CT in the hospital “
That PET CT scanner will go in the pediatric imaging suite, which opened three years ago in the hospital.
