Man seen breaking into cars in Barnwell County, SC

BARNWELL COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) — The Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person they say is responsible for breaking into several vehicles in the Sweetwater Country Club area.

Authorities say the incident took place in the early morning hours of May 8.

We’re told the suspect took items from vehicles that were unlocked and he also checked garage doors. One homeowner’s garage was not locked, officials said.

“Please remember to keep your vehicles locked at all times when unattended and remove all valuables from the vehicle or place them out of sight,” Barnwell County Sheriff Ed Carroll said in a social media post.

The incident come on the heels of  a recent string of vehicle breakins in Barnwell. One juvenile has been arrested and three more are under investigation following those incidents.
