The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says a man is facing charges after allegedly making a bomb threat against Augusta National Golf Course on March 25th.

Investigators say a note was left in a bathroom stall in the Circle K on Wheeler Road. The note also contained a name of an individual who was allegedly carrying out the threat.

During the investigation, 58 year old Robert Beckum was identifed as the suspect. He admitted to deputies that he wrote the note using someone else’s name and admitted it was a hoax.

Beckum was arrested and charged with False Public Alarm.
