Hundreds gather to say goodbyes to Grady

Saying goodbyes tonight to a community leader, 

Hundreds of family and friends turning out this afternoon to show their respect for   Augusta Commissioner Grady Smith.

Smith died suddenly  Tuesday at the age of 71.

Smith was a family man, a businessman, and his friends and colleagues say he will be missed.

 “We lost a lot and today is a sad day for a lot of people in Augusta, Grady was a good man he was always full of spirit has great stories and I’m going to miss him I had spoken with him last Thursday and we we’re talking about staying until the end what the people elected us to do,” said Commissioner Wayne Guilfoyle. 

:Grady Smith was in the final weeks of his second and last term.
City leaders say  they will be holding their own memorial for him at a commission meeting later.
