Harlem announces a new Police Chief at it’s City Council meeting.

Police Chief Robert Lewis comes after former Chief Chuck Meadows, who resigned from the position back in March.

Chief Lewis has been an officer since 2006. He has worked in Richmond County and Grovetown before serving five years in Harlem.

He started as an Interim officer, then Captain, and is now honored as Chief.

“I’m just going to continue my community policing. That’s my goal in Harlem, Georgia. I am really looking forward to community policing,” says Chief Lewis.

He says he loves the community and is ready to keep the town safe.
