While the community mourns the tragic loss of 12-year-old Melquan Robinson the city is investigating.
Deputies say on Monday Melquan climbed the fence at Fleming Park.
The fence was somehow charged and electrocuted him.
Two more boys tried to save their friend and were shocked in the process – sending them to the hospital.
The city says they’ve hired a private firm to investigate several other parks as well.
But former commissioner Moses Todd says it’s almost too little too late.
NewsChannel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.
Meanwhile, a vigil for Melquan will be held Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Fleming Park.
