RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A driver following a fatal pedestrian accident in Richmond County will not be charged.
Willie Mims, 69, was struck by a car heading north while crossing the 2500 block of Peach Orchard Road just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 23.
Mims was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where he died at 7:14 p.m.
The Coroner’s Office says the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
“There are no charges for the driver in this accident,” the Richmond County Sheriff’ Office said.
