District 5 candidate urges voters to polls

The race for the District 5 commission seat is heading into the home stretch.

Interim Commissioner Johnny Few, flanked by supporters, held a news conference on the last day of early voting.

After Friday, the voters will only be able to cast their ballots Tuesday on Election Day.

Few took the time to urge district five voters to turn out.

“It’s very important that the citizens come out and vote. I would like for an overwhelming majority of District five voters vote for me so I wouldn’t have to have a run off, I’m going to urge everyone,” said Interim Commissioner Johnny Few.

Few is one of four candidates in the face. The others are Bernard Harper, Bobby Williams and Kelby Walker.

If none are able to get more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two finishers will compete in a run off.
