The GBI says it has made several arrests after a 2-year long investigation. In a news release, the agency says the probe focused on commercial marijuana grow operations run by a Cuban drug trafficking organization.
Officers in Jenkins and Burke Counties served search warrants on Tuesday, February 19th 2019.
They say they uncovered 3 large marijuna grow operations and found 1.3 million dollars worth of pot. They also say they found 46,420 dollars in cash and several guns. They arrested 5 people.
The GBI says so far their drug enforcing efforts have led them to identify and dismantle 7 locations in Emanuel, Johnson, Jenkins, and Burke Counties.
