Commission doesn’t act on Brigham Center repairs request

An Augusta Commissioner says a popular city recreation center needs a lot of work.

Commissioner Bobby Williams says the Henry Brigham Center needs repairs.

There’s a  leaking roof, and a gym floor that dates back to when the center opened.

And the center’s pool is also an issue.

“There’s been some complaints about the pool, as far as the water being heated or not heated I understand they did some work on it historically there’s been some problems with that pool  being heated so we’re going to see what we can do,” says Commissioner Bobby Wiliams.

Recreation officials  estimate getting the Brigham Center back in shape would cost 200 thousand dollars.

The Commission Public Service Committee  Tuesday  did not make a recommendation on a course of action..
