NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – Drivers in South Carolina heading westbound on I-20 are experiencing traffic delays after a charter bus caught fire Saturday evening.
It happened just after 5:30 p.m. near mile marker 4 in North Augusta.
More than 50 people were on the bus when it started smoking.
Everyone made it out, but we don’t know if anyone was injured.
Emergency crews had to shutdown all of the westbound lanes of the interstate to put the fire out.
No word on what caused the fire.
The riders had to wait on the side of the highway for another charter bus to pick them up.
