Augusta’s streetlight debate lives another day

The city of Augusta’s streetlight debate will live to see another day.

City leaders called a special meeting Thursday to work on the details of a possible increase in fees to make up for a shortfall in funds.

The reason being not enough commissioners attending to vote, as four were not in attendance.

Earlier this month, finance officials said that if streetlight fees are not increased, the shortfall will grow to almost two million dollars next year.
