The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 2-year old.

The child has been identified as Jaziah Pollard. She was shot at a home on Meadowbrook Drive Tuesday evening.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office says it happened at 7:44 Tuesday night.

The release says the mother, 19-year-old Jackqueline Ingram, got into an argument with her boyfrined, 28-year-old Marquie Gunter, over the use of a vehicle.

Gunter fired several shots at the vehicle.

After Ingram ran inside the home and locked the door, Gunter kicked it down and fired once inside the home. That’s when the toddler was hit. She died at the hospital.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Gunter is not related to the little girl.

He has been arrested and charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Damage to Property in 2nd Degree, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
