The number of early voters in Augusta has election officials taking notice.
Wednesday marked the third day of advanced voting at the Municipal building and there was another strong turn out.
More than 600 people voted both Monday and Tuesday, that’s far more ballots cast then the first two days of the last mid-term.
“In the last midterm in 2014, we had around two hundred people come through on the first day. We had 650 come through Monday. By comparison this election is somewhere in between a normal midterm what we would typically see in a presidential election in terms of the number of people coming out.” says Elections Director Lynn Bailey.
Bailey says while early voting is not up to the level of the LAST presidential year the requests for mail-in ballots has topped what they had in 2016.
