Augusta approves small business loan program


Augusta, Ga. (WJBF) – Commissioners are taking steps to help small businesses hurt by the coronavirus.

Commissioners approve using a little more than one million dollars in federal funds to use to loan to businesses with ten or fewer workers.

The loans would be up to 15 thousand dollars, and can be used for salaries, rent and utilities.

Businesses will need to be current on all city taxes and have an Augusta business license
