Arts in the Heart Festival Kicks Off Friday

This year’s Arts in the Heart festival kicks off Friday, and organizers are expecting big crowds.

A heavy emphasis will be placed on live music this year.

Stages are already set up in the Augusta Common, and booths featuring food from around the world as well as craft stands will be in place by Friday afternoon.

The festival kicks off Friday at 5pm and lasts through the weekend.

Badges are ten dollars at the gate and are good for the entire weekend.

There are several street closures associated with the festival that have already taken place.  Those include:

9th street from Ellis to Broad and from Jones to Broad.

McCartan Street.

Broad Street from 7th to 10th.

8th Street from Reynolds to Ellis.

The eastbound lane of Reynolds from 9th to 8th will close Friday morning until Sunday evening.

The road closures will be in effect until Sunday night.
