Another inmate sues the State Dept. of Corrections after riot at S.C. prison

CSRA News

Another inmate injured in a riot at a South Carolina prison is suing the State Department of Corrections.

Reakwon Watson says that Lee Correctional has a “long history of overcrowding” and hasn’t provided enough security or supervision.

The suit also alleges the department knew inmates had access to weapons.

Watson says he was stabbed eight times but didn’t get immediate medical attention.

Seven inmates died and 22 others were injured last month during the riots.

Two other inmates have also filed suits.
