The Allendale Police Deparment is investigating a deadly hit and run.
Police say they were patrolling on US 278 East at around 2:03 a.m., Sunday, and saw a woman in the roadway who appeared to be a victim of a hit and run accident.
Allendale County EMS was called to the scene and the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment where she was later was pronounced dead.
The Allendale County Coroner has identified her as 21-year-old Bridgette Bynum.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine exact cause of death.
South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Allendale County Coroners office are also investigating.
