AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – UPDATE: Aiken County Schools voted in favor of a later starting date. The re-opening will begin August 31st.

During Tuesday night’s board meeting, Aiken county school superintendent King Laurence proposed moving the start of school from august 17th to August 31st.

That would be a two week delay to give the district more time to prepare.

That vote will take place tomorrow at 6:30.
