“I think a lot of people are anxious, that’s the only way to describe it,” said Robert Studdard.
The day everyone has been waiting for is finally here, election day.
NewsChannel 6’s Devin Johnson went to a few mid-term election viewing parties to see what has everyone so engaged this year.
“They know they have to vote today,” explained Studdard. “Today is crucial, it’s lifting the go flag on the race.”
Elect chairman for the Augusta – Richmond County Democratic Party, Jordan Johnson says this election could be historic for the Peach State.
“We can win the numbers are there, it’s just simple mathematics,” said Johnson. We can win here in Georgia; the numbers prove it the numbers have shown it, and we have a candidate who believes in Georgia. We have a candidate that works in the city as well with rural Georgia.”
As the night closes in on a winner, these viewers are hanging on to every word on TV.
“People are hungry for change,” explained Johnson. “So the candidate that comes out and speaks on their issues speaks out on your issues and deliver on our issues and have delivered before. That’s a recipe for success.”
“I’m excited to see what going to happen,” said Studdard. “This is my sport, this my NFL, this is my hockey. I’m excited to see what happens; I think we’re going to have really good numbers.”
The red wave versus the blue wave, but soon we’ll have the next governor for Georgia.
