2020 budget season starts in Augusta

The budget season in Augusta is now underway.

Interim Administrator Jarvis Sims has presented his 2020 budget recommendations to commissioners.

General fund revenues in the plan increase by five and a half million dollars over 2019.

This spring commissioners filled out a survey of their top budget priorities, Health and Safety, Transit, and Economic development were the top three.

Commissioners have set November 19th as the date to approve next year’s budget.
