2019 Martin Luther King, Jr. celebrations in Augusta

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in Augusta, is sponsored by the Augusta Recreation & Parks Department and WKZK Radio Station – The Spirit.

The celebration will be held at the Carrie J. Mays Family Life Center, 1014 11th Avenue, Thursday, January 17 at 11:00am.

The annual parade is sponsored by the City of Augusta and the NAACP Augusta Branch. 

The parade is Saturday, January 19 at 1:00pm. The parade lines up at Dyess Park Community Center, 902 James Brown Boulevard.

The participants will leave Dyess Park, travel south on James Brown Boulevard, west onto Wrightsboro Road, north on Augusta Avenue, east onto Laney-Walker Boulevard, north onto 11th Street and east onto D’Antignac Street.
