Tim Miller

Tim Miller is honored to be the Chief Meteorologist for WJBF-TV, News Channel 6. Tim may be a familiar face for some in the CSRA as he was the morning meteorologist for WIS-TV in Columbia, SC for 8 years. Tim understands the many challenges of forecasting our ever-changing weather across the CSRA. In October 2015, Tim received international fame when he accurately predicted 20 inches of rain would fall in the Midlands of South Carolina, what would be called the 1000-year flood. Tim’s emotional reaction to a Live shot of the sun coming out after the rain stopped, was picked up by news outlets all over the world.

Tim’s love for weather started when he was very young. Growing up in Chicago, Tim would watch legendary TV meteorologist John Coleman and Tom Skilling and would then pretend to do the weather forecast for family members! Tim started in broadcasting at age 16 working at a radio station outside Chicago, then spent many years working for radio stations in Tampa and Houston, before moving over to television. Tim received his degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University. Tim has won 5 Emmy Awards over the last six years.

Tim also has a home recording studio, where he does voice over work across the globe!

Tim loves to talk weather and would love to talk to you! He’s thrilled to be part of the rich legacy of WJBF-TV and plans to be here, as Tim says, “the rest of my career.”
