Mary Morrison co-anchors WJBF NewsChannel 6’s Good Morning Augusta Monday through Friday, as well as WJBF NewsChannel 6 News at Noon.
My first day on the anchor desk was March 7, 1988. Since then, the morning news has grown dramatically!
From short news briefs during Good Morning, America to a daily two hour newscast called “Good Morning, Augusta” and an hour long newscast each weekday at noon.
It has been such an honor to have been part of our expanding news product. One of the highlights came in 2011 when we moved into our beautiful new studio on Augusta West Parkway.
It is a real joy to work in this state of the art facility with fantastic colleagues like co-anchor Barclay Bishop and Meteorologist John Lynn. They and the rest of the GMA and Noon News Crew strive each day to bring our viewers the most up to the minute news, sports and weather.
I am deeply grateful to my husband and family, who to this day offer me such love and support, especially in light of my “crazy” hours. Those “crazy” hours leave me plenty of time to spend with my four young grandchildren who keep me running from activity to activity. Truth is, I wouldn’t want to miss a minute of the fun.
Most of all, thanks to those of you who have made us part of your morning routine and your midday break. Hope you’ll continue to join us for years to come.
