Joey Gill is an award-winning Digital Content Producer that joined the WJBF NewsChannel 6 team in August 2022.
A native of the CSRA, Joey brings over a decade of writing and social media experience to the WJBF newsroom. Joey comes back home from WJZY, the FOX-affiliated Nexstar television station in Charlotte, N.C. Before moving to Charlotte, Joey worked in Nashville, Tenn. at WKRN-TV, WSMV-TV, and with the USA Today Network.
Joey has a long history in Augusta media, having previously worked as a digital producer for the CBS, NBC, and FOX stations. He also previously worked in promotions and production for Beasley Media Group and iHeartMedia radio stations and even wrote a blog for The Augusta Chronicle.
Joey is a graduate of Greenbrier High School and the University of South Carolina-Aiken.
Working for WJBF has always been Joey’s dream job since he was old enough to crawl. He’s excited that the dream is finally coming true. Joey is excited to be back home and be closer to his family, including his new nephew Davis for which he hopes to be the best uncle ever!
