More about Jessye Norman School of Arts:

The purpose of the school is to provide a wide range of arts education in a caring, supportive environment that provides the necessary life skills needed for children to succeed. JNSA is home to approximately 100 students, 14 faculty and staff members, 12 tutors, 70 volunteers and hundred of supporters in the Augusta community. Our students are provided daily homework time and tutoring that leads them to outperform their peers on report cards and standardized testing. We have a 100% graduation rate among students who remain in the program through high school. Students attend each day the Richmond County Schools are in session, from 4-6p.

Additionally, 75% of the students qualify for free or reduced meals at school, and they attend JNSA at no cost to the families.

On March 15, 2018 the Friends of JNSA will host a ‘Purses for a Purpose’ Auction and Benefit at the Richmond on the Greene to raise funds for the day to day operation of the school. With your help, we hope to continue our support for the school through the silent and live auctioning of fashionable handbags and purses. Tickets may be purchases online, at the school or you may call or text 706-836-3058. This event is back by popular demand with great door prizes, food, and shopping, all for a wonderful cause.
