RALEIGH, N.C. -

A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run Wednesday near the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Calvary Drive in Raleigh.

Police said officers responded to the incident around 8 p.m. Edward Deane Trice, 50, was hit by a sedan traveling northbound on Capital Boulevard.

Raleigh police said the sedan will likely have damage to the headlight area and possible windshield damage.

Capital Boulevard northbound was closed immediately following the incident.

The victim was transported to WakeMed for treatment with serious but  non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information that might assist investigating officers is asked to call the RPD tip line at (919) 834-HELP.
